This policy describes the current personal-use Slipcards iPhone app and its optional connections.
On your iPhone
Slipcards stores your cards and notes on your device. Optional connections use the services described below.
Google Drive and Sync for Dot
If you connect Google Drive and select cards or branches for Sync for Dot, Slipcards requests Google's drive.file permission. The app creates and updates a private JSON export in your Google Drive with the selected cards' titles, plain-text notes, links, hierarchy, identifiers, and export metadata.
Slipcards stores the Google authorization needed to update that file in your iPhone's Keychain. Google stores the export in your Drive. Other services, including ChatGPT, can read it when you separately authorize them to access that file. Changing your selection updates the export; copies previously retrieved by another service may remain there.
You can revoke Slipcards' access in your Google Account's third-party connections and delete the export from Google Drive. Google handles data on its services under its privacy policy.
Optional AI and voice
If you save your own OpenAI API key and submit an AI instruction, Slipcards sends the instruction and a catalog of live card titles, identifiers, paths, and relationships to OpenAI. The catalog does not include stored note bodies, although text you include in your instruction is sent. The API key is stored in your iPhone's Keychain.
If you choose voice input and send a recording for transcription, the recording is sent to OpenAI. OpenAI handles those requests under its privacy policy.
